Every program of study offered in the Art Institutes is regularly reviewed by industry leaders, advisors, and employers for relevance. Changes are made, if necessary, so that the school will retain the highest of standards. The Art Institute of Seattle is located in a beautiful area in Washington state in the Pacific Northwest. It is a block away from the Elliot Bay waterfront in downtown Seattle. The school is in the heart of the city's design studios, restaurants, and corporate offices.
The Art Institute of Seattle was developed in 1982. It offers art classes from technical degrees such as Industrial Design to the fine arts such as painting classes. There are four options in degree programs at the Art Institute of Seattle: the Associate of Applied Arts degree, Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, Diploma, or Bachelor of Science degree. All of these degrees and diplomas are considered undergraduate degrees.
There are four main areas of study at the Art Institute of Seattle; design, fashion, media arts, and culinary arts. Some of the design programs include graphic design, industrial design, digital design, and interior design. The fashion programs include fashion design and fashion marketing. Some of the media arts degrees include video production, interactive media, and media arts and animation. The culinary arts programs offer education in the art of cooking, culinary arts, and baking and pastry.
The Art Institute of Seattle has a different way of handling admissions. Yes, they care about grades and activities from high school, but what is most important to them is the interview process. The interview is either in person or over the phone. They want to get to know a candidate, especially his or her goals and passions. All applicants are required to complete their high school education (a GED is acceptable), either SAT or ACT passing scores, and a one-hundred and fifty word essay.
The program length may vary depending on a student's program of interest, transfer credits, and other factors considered in the admissions interview. As a result, a student's total tuition may be different from that listed. The Art Institute of Seattle's application fee is $50.00 and currently tuition per credit is $416.00.
The Art Institute of Seattle offers scholarships based on merit, motivation, and financial need to new and continuing students. Scholarship applications are reviewed by a selection committee. Students must meet a minimum standard of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) to be eligible for scholarship programs. The scholarships cover tuition only and do not cover books, supplies, or miscellaneous fees. Students attending The Art Institute of Seattle on scholarship must maintain at least a 2.5 CGPA in order to retain eligibility.
The Art Institute of Seattle offers a great academic education as well as a personal experience. There is a nice balance of city life and Seattle's natural surroundings. Education from the Art Institute of Seattle will prepare students personally and professionally for a career in the arts.
